Red Nose Day 2011
SIDS and Kids Western Australia would like to thank all those that played a part in this year's Red Nose Day!
To all the partners & sponsors, volunteers, fundraisers, staff and the public, your effort and support is greatly appreciated!
Thank You!
Warwick Senior High School have been supporting SIDS and Kids WA by providing students to raise money in the CBD on Red Nose Day for many years and their contribution to the campaign's fundraising program over the years has been immense. Sincere thanks to the school principal and teachers who organise the excursion and supervise the students on the day
About Red Nose Day
Red Nose Day is a national high profile fun event held annually in June.
Community support of this program has been responsible for saving the lives of thousands of Australian babies’ lives.
Funds raised through Red Nose Day activities are critical in the maintenance of essential services including the all important life saving ‘Safe Sleeping’ education program and the provision of grief support to families who have experienced the death of a child.
The event activities include:
The sale of Red Nose Day merchandise.
Businesses, schools, organisations and individuals pledge to sell cute merchandise on behalf the organisation. There is no expense to the seller as the product is provided on an honour system of sale or return
Online and In - Office Fundraising
Online fundraising has become a very easy and popular way to support and organisation due to its reach and is a very effective way to provide support and raise much needed money to support the organisation.
In-Office fundraising is done by running an event of your choice at your business
involving staff and even customers/suppliers. Activities can be low key in terms of set up but can be fun and satisfying. Ideas include a morning tea, red/free dress day, trash and treasure day or any other activity which suits your business, team building program or social club schedule. Promotion of your event and invitation to customers/suppliers to be involved in your event can be of great benefit to the business through the creation of contact and good will whilst raising money for a great cause.
Proceeds from Red Nose Day assist SIDS and Kids in providing vital services and programs in your local community including:
- Education to thousands of parents, carers and health professionals on how to reduce the risk of SIDS and fatal sleeping accidents through our world class, evidence based SIDS and Kids safe sleeping program.
- Free ongoing bereavement support and crisis outreach to families and the community following the sudden and unexpected death of a baby, infant or child - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year!
- Research into the causes and prevention of sudden and unexpected death of babies during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood.
