Training for Professionals, Trainers & Volunteers

SIDS and Kids WA provide a wide range of evidenced based education and training programs. Lectures, presentations, and training on our services, safe infant sleeping and bereavement are available to hospitals, emergency services, childcare centres, Aboriginal services, business organizations, universities, high schools, community groups and other organizations caring for families and their children.

 Safe Sleeping Education & Training Workshops for Professionals

Participants receive resources and a Certificate of Attendance.

  • Reducing the risk of sudden infant death: SIDS and fatal sleep accidents.
  • Co-sleeping: what does the evidence tell us?
  • Safe Sleeping in Childcare Services.
  • Reducing the Risk of SIDS in Aboriginal Communities (RROSIAC).

 

 Training Workshops

Participants receive workshop resources and a Certificate of Attendance.

  • Safe Sleeping in Childcare Services – a 2 hour workshop for child care workers. Content aligns with current NCAC principles and accreditation requirements.
  • Reducing the Risk of SIDS in Aboriginal Communities (RROSIAC).
  • Contemporary approaches to Bereavement- a professional half day workshop that can be multidisciplinary or for a specific profession. The workshop includes information on cultural impacts, bereaved children and self care. 
  • Healing Our Mob – a culturally appropriate loss and grief workshop over 3 days for Aboriginal Health Workers or others working within Aboriginal maternal and child health.
